change and how to cope!

Change is a part of life. 

Think of all the phrases you have heard about change. ‘Good things come to those who wait’. ‘Change is the law of life’. ‘Change in all things is sweet’. ‘Good things take time.’ There are so many quotes. Too many! And how do they help you, when you face change in your life? That is entirely up to you. I like to read them when I need to laugh to be perfectly honest. My sense of humor is a bit twisted. 

In writing, change is inevitable. Take me for example.  I started out writing from one main idea, putting it on paper as I went, balls to the wall. Honestly, you could liken it to a snowball falling down a hill. One that picks up massive speed and turns into an avalanche. I couldn’t stop it if I tried. Then, gradually, as I kept at it, I found that I wanted to plan a book out better. Giving caution to the wind is still a great way to go when it comes to writing, but something can be said for taking time to plan. 

Which brings me to my third novel. It’s gotten all the in depth researching and note taking under its belt, as well as given a name. And now, I can slowly write. But change has altered how I will go about this moving forward. And this is indeed good. Flying by the seat of my ass isn’t always a long term solution. 

If you look at other aspects of your life, you might just see where change has taken place. In fact, it might scream at you. “Hey man..this is where you took a different turn!” So how do we cope with such changes? We do what I mentioned above, we laugh. Find the humor in whatever the situation is, then go with it. You might just surprise yourself with how much change you can actually take. And if it gets too much, jot it down and use it. Use it for a story. 

It might make a bestseller.
